Since 2002, I’ve been working on changing my lifestyle slowly. I was a surly, bruting, overweight kid who started dieting at age 12. I would drop a chunk of weight, be ecstatic and then put it all back in record time plus more. I would drop some weight again, and then put it back plus more again. By age 23, I had been on seventeen diets and weighed 317 pounds. I decided no more. I got serious about small changes (no more starving myself) that would help me lose weight, become more healthy physically, emotionally and mentally, and keep it off for good.
My journey has been imperfect, full of surprises and long. And it isn’t over. It is easier now to maintain but that’s when discipline becomes consistency.
